Hairpin Legs Wood Coffee Table

woodcoffeetable2

I got these tree trunk from a friend. Its been sitting in my garage for about 2 months now. I think its pretty dried up. So today I got to work with my dad with this project.

I have been pintersting and found what I can do with this. I bought some 16″ hairpin legs ($13-$25 each leg) and started on this project.

First I took off the bark then started sanding with 60 grit sandpaper. It came out pretty nice so I kept it at that. (I like the little imperfection and grooves on the wood… makes it look natural)

Then I painted it with wood stain. Next time im going to pick a different color. Im not too crazy about this color.

Finally the side table is complete!!

12/24/2016 – UPDATE: Next time i might have to dry it longer… i noticed a couple of cracks, which in a way gives the table character…
